This campsite is about an hour's drive down the Peninsula from the ferry Terminal
at Cherbourg making it an ideal stop-
However, this site is so much more than a stopover site and we find we are spending longer and longer here because of its superb facilities. We like a quiet site, preferably with somewhere to fish and swim and this site certainly fits the bill.
We first arrived at this site at about 2 p.m. on a boiling hot day in June. The temperature
was in the eighties. We pulled up outside and realised that it was lunchtime and
the site was closed. The owner Patrice Laurent rushed out and lifted the barrier

The bar area is very nice with a library and a big terrace where you can sit outside and look over the pool and lake, there is a library in the bar which everyone is welcome to use and magazines in the reception area. The site is beautifully maintained and run by Patrice and his English wife

Three supermarkets serve this area, one in La Haye du Puits, which is couple of minutes down the road. There is a very good market on a Wednesday. The nearest beach is St. Germaine Sur Ay, which was very quiet when we visited. Stand on the beach and gaze at the Jersey coastline in the distance!
